ASIANOVA :: BIOGRAPHY

Asianova was formed as a result off a series of leisurely, improvised jam sessions between two couples. Each, at the time, had separate groups as duos.
Jim Wilson and Bonnie McNairn were just beginning their band Voice of Eye, while Ure Thrall and Pamela Passmore were performing acts of sonic terrorism around Houston as the power duo Terminus.
This unpredictable and unprecedented collaboration brought forth into the world a breed of sonic mysticism that was unrivaled in its intensity and complexity. From the 1st mesmerizing track of 1997's debut CD "Burning the Blue Skie Black", Asianova grabs you by all 12 chakras to induce indescribable feelings of sanctity and ritualism with every single listen.
The name Asianova came directly from the desire to translate/modulate/emulate the most deep and haunting aspects embodied in the hallowed and ancient musical traditions of eastern cultures both near and far.
"We revel in the plucking of a yanquin's string as we listen to the vibration serenade the ghosts of ancient pasts."
Not unlike our ancient sun, mystical music from our long-forgotten past continues to shine down on us through the ages. Asianova intends to channel these occidental harmonic rays of sunshine into something more akin to a sonic supernova, thus imbuing the listener with an all-pervasive dark-light that is left shining in the mind long after the music has ended. This awakening to a strange new combination of intense beauty and regal darkness induced by way of this devastatingly rich sonic liqueur brings forth a sudden sure epiphany when you realize that there can be only one word to describe such a profoundly intense listening experience..... ASIANOVA!
After recording nearly ten albums worth of material, several of which have seen international release on such notable labels as Eibon, Drone, and White Rabbit Records, the project was shelved in 1995.
12 years have gone and at long last Asianova reunited in 2007 san Ms. Passmore.
