IAMINDUST is an annual international music festival focusing primarily on some of the best Dark ambient and Industrial acts from around the world. It also is meant to provoke the attending artists to go beyond their usual comfort zones in the realm of performance, by utilizing the octophonic sound system we are providing just for this occasion, and also by embarking upon unique live impromptu collaborations with some of the other attending artists in an effort to create wholly new and unpredictable results.
THE VENUE: Top Secret
Due to the UNDER THE RADAR nature of this event...the address of the space will be provided through an email the day of the show. To attend, you will need to RSVP. Invite only. We can tell you the both nights will be held in an urban space a few blocks from the Powell Street Bart station in downtown San Francisco, CA.
THE OCTOPHONIC SOUND SYSTEM
This will be the first festival ever held using an OCTOPHONIC SOUND SYSTEM we are creating
especially for this event with the kind help of local artist JAMES GOODE. All the attending
artists will be invited to create an octophonic landscape for this performance to be utilized in
tandem with the sets they will perform.
MULTIMEDIA INSTALLATION SPACE - ATAVUS
Brian Traylor, co-founder of ATAVUS.org, returns again this year as the live visualist for this unique expanded cinema/performance space. Collaborating with the festival organizer, URE THRALL, this year's space offers unique opportunities. Several of the performers will premiere live visuals by Brian Traylor, including Voice of Eye, Ure Thrall and Death of the West.
THE WEB SITE - IAMINDUST.COM
The web site IAMINDUST.COM serves as a repository of information and an archive of events
leading up to, during and after IAMINDUST. Besides housing bio information, discographies, photo galleries and sound samples for the artists performing at IAMINDUST 2009, the web site will also serve as a community space to discuss and interact before, during and after the event. You will also be able to purchase much sought after tickets, swag and recordings from the event. Our beloved press will be able to download digital press kits, thus saving many a tree.
IAMINDUST.COM is hosted by DREAMHOST which is a carbon neutral ISP. The site was lovingly designed, developed and donated by Alan Herrick of Nux Vomica and Auricular Media Design, also a carbon neutral business. The site is currently maintained by Brian Traylor of www.atavus.org
